Project Lead The Way Middle School Teacher Of The Year

Boone County Schools is proud to announce that Todd Hanley of R.A. Jones Middle School has been named the PLTW Middle School Gateway Teacher of the Year for the state of Kentucky.  As a Master Teacher for Project Lead The Way, Mr. Hanley teaches Design and Modeling, Robotics, and Medical Detectives.  Mr. Hanley will be honored along with the other PLTW award winners at a dinner prior to the beginning of their state conference on October 2nd in Shelbyville, Kentucky.  Mr. Hanley was recognized and awarded Master Teacher for PLTW earlier this year.  Congratulations to Todd Hanley!

Two Boone County School District Teachers Named As Finalists For Kentucky Teacher Of The Year

The Kentucky Department of Education and Valvoline™ have selected 24 outstanding Kentucky educators as recipients of the 2017 Valvoline Teacher Achievement Awards (TAA).  Kimberly Delaney from Longbranch Elementary School and Tricia Shelton from Cooper High School were among the recipients who are now finalists for the Kentucky Teacher of the Year.

Ryle High School is home to Five National Merit Semifinalists and 132 AP Scholars

Boone County Schools is proud to announce that five seniors from Larry A. Ryle High School have been selected as 2016 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists.  Allison LaRoy, Brandon Powell, Glenn Stanton, Fiona Walsh, and Amanda Zahn are being recognized among the top academic performers in the nation.  More information on the National Merit Scholarship Program can be found here.

Congratulations to 132 students at Ryle for earning AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. The College Board's Advanced Placement Program recognizes several levels of achievement based on students' performance on AP Exams. The AP Scholar names are listed here.
